As we step into 2026, we want to take a moment to reflect on what’s been delivered over the past year and share a look at where Kafoodle is heading next.
2025 was a strong year of product development, with a focus on improving everyday workflows, increasing clarity for kitchen teams, and supporting more complex food operations. Looking ahead, 2026 builds on that foundation with enhancements designed to save time, reduce setup effort, and unlock new ways of working.
This update brings together:
- A recap of the key Kafoodle features released during 2025
- A preview of the improvements and new capabilities planned for 2026
- A short product walkthrough video highlighting some of last year’s updates in action
2025 Highlights
Did you miss anything?
Sub-recipes expansion: Composite recipes are now easier to work with. You can expand sub-recipes directly within the parent recipe datasheet, allowing you to view all underlying ingredients in one place without navigating away.

New ‘kitchen operator’ user role: Kitchen operators now have read-only access to Kafoodle, with the ability to scale recipes up or down as service volumes change, without the risk of editing core recipe data.

Non-food item exclusion: Items such as packaging or consumables can be added to recipes for accurate costing, while being automatically excluded from food labels. This keeps compliance clean while ensuring true cost visibility.

Improved recipe waste logic: Instead of managing waste at the ingredient level, you can now apply a single wastage percentage to the entire recipe. This makes it easier to reflect preparation and cooking loss while keeping costing accurate.

Improved filter and search: Filtering has been enhanced across the platform, including the ability to filter orders by stock location and improved ingredient filtering for faster, more precise workflows.
Offline stock take mode: Stock takes can now be completed in low or no-connectivity environments, such as walk-in freezers. Any data entered offline automatically syncs once connectivity is restored.
North American system improvements: Kafoodle expanded its North American capabilities with integrations with US Foods and Sysco, the inclusion of USDA data, and support for businesses operating in French Canada.

2026 Roadmap
What to look forward to
2026 is focused on making Kafoodle faster to work with, easier to scale, and even more useful at the point of service. We’re prioritising improvements that reduce friction in day-to-day workflows, streamline setup, and support customers operating at greater scale, while continuing to strengthen the reliability and compliance Kafoodle is known for.
Here’s a preview of what’s coming.
Menu Builder update: A refreshed menu-building experience with improved usability and a modernised interface, aligned with wider 365 design standards.
Smarter Import: Improved data mapping and transformation to make importing customer data into the 365 Kitchen Management format faster, cleaner, and more reliable.
Production Planning module: A new module designed initially for commissary and central production unit (CPU) operations, responding to growing customer demand for production-led planning workflows.
Dynamic recipe spec sheets: Customisable recipe spec sheets that allow teams to control exactly what information is shared with the kitchen, helping reduce noise and improve clarity during service.
Public recipe list access: Optional access to a shared library of pre-built recipes, helping teams get started faster and reduce manual setup.
HFSS reporting functionality: HFSS scores will be stored and displayed at recipe level, with automatic HFSS calculation built directly into Kafoodle alongside existing nutritional analysis.
