This week marks the start of Kafoodle’s launch in Scotland- an event that the whole team have been looking forward to! We cannot believe the amazing welcome that we have already received from everyone north of the border, particularly our founder Kim who has been spending a great deal of time working alongside our Scottish friends and business partners. We are incredibly committed to providing food transparency, and this new opportunity to share our hard work further afield is one that we will not be taking lightly. Kim has always felt a great connection with Scotland (possibly due to being born on Burns Day!) and has revelled in the chance to spend more time in the country. We are even in the process of opening an Edinburgh based office, so watch this space!Kim has already started some dialogue with the local Government and Food Standards Scotland, discussing how we can work together to create a safer and more transparent out of home eating experience. More details to come as plans progress. The Vittoria Group has become one of the first hospitality businesses in Scotland to announce its partnership with Kafoodle, working to make their restaurants a safer place for allergy sufferers. The restaurant group is rolling out Kafoodle across all five of its outlets, Vittoria on The Walk, Vittoria on The Bridge, Divino Enoteca, La Favorita Pizzeria and Taste of Italy. As Kim explains “We are delighted to be launching Kafoodle into Scotland and working with businesses like The Vittoria Group and are working actively to support other businesses in the country to with their food compliance and transparency. As both businesses and customers become more tech savvy, using a digital system like Kafoodle is an easy and logical way to help simplify what is currently a bit of a minefield for caterers and diners alike.”It is a great pleasure working alongside such a renowned business like The Vittoria Group and we very much look forward to developing this relationship in the foreseeable future. The Vittoria group has been kind enough to share some great feedback, too.

Owner, Tony Crolla explained how he “was delighted to see how Kafoodle has impacted on the business” and how Kafoodle made dealing with customer requests far more efficient which can only be good for the customer”.Spencer Wilson, Executive Group Chef for the Vittoria Group added: “First and foremost, the Kafoodle system enables us to provide accurate information in response to the increasing requests from our customers for varied allergen information. But the software has also enabled me to comprehensively record all of my recipes and provide accurate costing information.”

We feel blessed to receive such encouraging comments. Our launch coincides with the Catering in Scotland Excellence Awards on 25th May, and we know only too well of the exciting times ahead. Kafoodle have the great pleasure to be Sponsoring the Restaurant Newcomer of the Year Award at this year’s event, and, as relative newcomers ourselves, this seems incredibly fitting! We were also honoured to find out that we're finalists in the Business Innovation category. This is a great time of celebration, and we look forward to merging the joy of the event with the launch. We would like to wish all CIS Awards finalists the best of luck.If you would like to find out more about our exciting expansion to the north, or take a further look at our partnership with The Vittoria Group, then please do not hesitate to contact Annie.gladwell@kafoodle.com
